   Another name for Herbert was Herbet Edward Bancroft.

From 1977 letter from Harriet Pick, Martha Ann had a 2nd hand clothing business.
Notes from Steve Pick 2004. I remember Uncle Herbert came a few times from Keighley to stay with us in Beach Crescent. I am sure I also remember going to Keighley and visiting his house there. Vague feeling I have was that it was a little somber dark and possibly an apartment. Maybe Bill Pick's diaries could shed further detail on the event. His death was probably around 1948, but can't be sure.
From Pam Colburns chart says he was a Lathe borer in tool shop.
8/21/09 Found piece of paper with births and deaths of family and it has name as Herbert EDWARD Bancroft born Apr 26th 1867 Whinns Wood Houses.
1/5/10 W. Pick's diary 4th May 1943. "uncle Herbert went back to Keighley this morning - he hasn't had bad weather"
28th June 1943 "Uncle Herbert came - stops till Friday"
2 July 1943 "Uncle Herbert went back to Keighley at 5pm today"

Death IGI index. Looked for William Pick diary confirmation but he stopped writing in 1951
8/21/09 Letter re will on file dated 22 Feb 1955. however 8/28/09 had put date as 28th Dec 1954 but burial information shows internement 23 Dec 1954. Need to look at will again to see if death date is a guess or there is an error. Changed to put Dec 1954. Living at 282 Oakworth Rd, Keighley when died

• 1881 Census Bancroft: Herbert Edwin aged 13, Scholar, born Bingley, 3 Apr 1881, West Street, Huddersfield. ³³¹

• 1911 Census Keighley Bancroft Herbert: Herbert Edwy Bancroft aged 40, Head, wardrobe dealer 909, born Keighley, 2 Apr 1911, 35 Market Place, Keighley, Yorks. ³³² Age difficult to read it is 4?, could be a 2 or 3 and not 0

• Visit from Bill & Harriet Pick: Diary entry W. Pick, 7 Apr 1951, Oakworth Lodge. Found Uncle Herbert in good spirits and not bad health. (Entry in diary is Oakworth Lodge but Goolge only shows Oakworth manor as old folks home 11/3/11)

Herbert married Martha Ann Ramsbottom about Dec 1890 in Keighley, Yorkshire, England. (Martha Ann Ramsbottom was born in 1871 in Keighley, Yorkshire, England, died in Jan 1940 in Blackpool, Lancashire, England and was buried on 17 Jan 1940 in Keighley, Yorkshire, England.)
