Email Mary Robinson and 1881 census aged 14. Was 21 on marriage certificate and occupation plumber, living at 80 Highgate, Kendal in 1886.
1891 Census aged 24 living at Gas works cottages profession plumber.
There are possible other birth records on FreeBMD but this looks the best from census information. Kendal covers Kirby Lonsdale.
Family folklore said he walked out on his wife about 1899

• Enlist in Militia: Enlist 4th Batallian 4th Lancashire regiment, 4 May 1896, Lancaster, Lancashire, England.

William married Margaret Rigg, daughter of William Rigg and Elizabeth Crossley, on 27 Dec 1886 in Kendal, Westmorland, England.¹³³¹ (Margaret Rigg was born in 1861 in Staveley, Westmorland, England and died in 1924 in Brockville, Ontario, Canada.)
