Birth place from Chart - Mary McCourt July 2004
5/1/11 found on 1901 census looking for Sarah McCourt (1885) so got birth place corrected from Senham Harbour, Durham, England and got a date.
From freeBMD and 1901 census not sure of "W" initial. Mary may have had bad info. Took out W when birth on freebmd just had John. With a further look at peggy's info the W was not there. She has kids as Florence and John.
5/3/11 1911 census say 3 of their children died. Can't see any candidates under Durham but there are 5 under Whitehaven. George Dec 95-Jun 00, Agnes sep 99 - jun 00, Elizabeth dec 99-mar 01, David Sep 06 -Mar 07, Elizabeth Sep 1907- Sep 08. all but 2 seem to be eliminated based on name or birth reference to known children alive.

• 1911 Census New Seaham Ross John: John Ross head mar aged 40 Coal miner hewer born Whitehaven, 2 Apr 1911, 13 Nelson St, New Seaham, S O Durham. ⁶²⁹

John married Mary Isabella McCourt, daughter of Joseph McCourt and Mary Reid, in Sep 1890 in Whitehaven, Cumberland, England.⁶⁰⁹ (Mary Isabella McCourt was born on 25 May 1871 in Whitehaven, Cumberland, England ⁶¹⁰ and died in Mar 1950 in Durham, England ⁶¹¹.)
