Cremated and ashes taken to Pontefract, Yorkshire to be with Inger, his wife. Jackie Pick and Sarah Finney went.
George grew up in Methley and Pontefract. Was a keen sportsman. Loved cricket and played rugby for Castleford. Moved to Barnton Cheshire in 1947 and lived at 49 Broadway. Was in the merchant marine and got recognized for bravery in world war II. His picture and a mention of his bravery was mentioned in Life magazine and published in a book about world war II.
They moved to Weaverham, Cheshire around 1970.
After his wife Joyce died in Weaverham he moved to Vancouver to be with his daughter Judith, but he out lived her when she tragically died of cancer.

Harold married Joyce Ingerthorp Allwood, daughter of Arthur William Allwood and Beulah Fanny Chilton, on 8 Jun 1940. (Joyce Ingerthorp Allwood was born on 7 Dec 1914 in Lapworth, Warwickshire, England and died on 14 May 1985 in Weaverham, Cheshire, England.) The cause of her death was Colon Cancer.
