bullet  Marriage Notes:

St Johns Church.
12/8/11 changed year from 1855 to 1856 as I made an error in previous entry.
12/9/11 message fro keighleyboy says their wedding was not the first.
The Centenary booklet on Ingow Church says that the Rev. William BUSFEILD conducted the first marriage at Ingrow Church on 15 April 1845, between Robert Clough of Grove Mill & Mary Lund of Hermit Hole.

Chat from forum on first marriage:
However, having read on a little further in the Ingrow Church Centenary book, I see that the new Parish of Ingrow-cum-Hainworth was formed under Lord BLANDFORD's act of 1856, and Thomas ILLINGWORTH & Elizabeth TAYLOR were the first to be married there under the new regime, by the first incumbent, the Rev. William Gibbons MAYNE. So in effect, you were right.

Just as a matter historical of interest - and I know it's beside the point - but for his second wife, William Gibbons MAYNE married, at Ingrow, Elizabeth, the daughter of the Rev. John FENNELL, one of the founders of Woodhouse Grove School at Apperley Bridge. FENNELLS's first wife had been Jane BRANWELL, paternal aunt of Mrs BRONTE, mother of the famous literary dughters
