In his 40's he had intestinal problems. He had gone to hospital for prostrate cancer but they couldn't operate due to his chest. There was an autopy.

Arthur married Beulah Fanny Chilton, daughter of William Henry Chilton and Harriet Ing, in 1907 in St John the Baptist, Hammerwich, Staffs. (Beulah Fanny Chilton was born about Sep 1882 in Hammerwich, Stafford, England, died in Sep 1942 in Pontefract, , Yorkshire, England and was buried in Pontefract, , Yorkshire, England.) The cause of her death was Stroke.
